Gigants are the largest of the Dwarf lineages. In fact, they are the largest of all the Law Beings and Mortal Races. Gigants the mightiest of the Dwarves. They dwell in deep-earth mines, gathering primarily ore. The ore is usually comprised of materials such as gold, silver, and lead. They also mine for gems.
They lug their hauls up to Dwarvish cavern complexes that exist or are made between a Gigant's mines and the surface mines of the Trolls and Orcas. Here the Ogres use their forges to craft the metals brought by the three other lineages.
Ogres are the forgers of the Dwarvish races. Their baritone anchors and binds the other lineages with their melody.
Ogres are master craftsman in armor, weapons, tools, equipment, and anything that relies on or utilizes metal in its structure. Ogres live and work in the primary Dwarf complexes.
Trolls are the primary gathers sand, coal, copper, iron, and other minerals that are essential components for the forges and for the items being forged. Their surface mines are often attacked by Ampte, Beowulves, and the nature-loving Jotunn. The frequent attacks and ill-feeling toward the Trolls by these beings and races lead Trolls to act rather persnickety and cantankerous.
Trolls also forge, but they focus on creations such as coin, glass, dyes, and oils.
They act as tenor both in the Dwarf Song and in their harmonization with Ogres in the forge.
Orcas are commonly found at rivers, pools, and lakes. They mine the loose sediment and gather metals like gold from them. The quantity they gather is less than the Gigants, but Orcas use these materials to craft more refined metalworks such as jewelry and inlay work on weapons and armor.
The Orca are the primary tradesmen of the Dwarves and those seen most by the Norn people especially. No matter where they are, whether travelling or within the cavernous complex of the Dwarves, the Orcas sing their part of Dwarfish song: the countertenor.
