Hedrick is the understudy to the dean of potions at WinterHelm Academy, Professor Willet. His mother insisted he grow in distinction from his brothers and sisters by learning under the powerful elecromancer, Master Bartholomew. To his great embarrassment, Hedrick became frightened and disrupted a class when Master Bartholomew led several higher pupils in a "Time Glimpse" spell. Seeing the yearling needed to grow in maturity before being apart of his class, Master Bartholomew placed Hedrick under Professor Willet's care.
Hedrick has a strong heart filled with copper magic or "electromancy". He's seeking out an adventurer to bond with who has a brave heart. He hopes to trade his natural access to copper magic, in exchange for courage through a bonding.
